Every so often I revisit a painting that resonates unresolved in the back of my mind. Here is ‘Lush’ forming a conclusion of sorts. Inspired by the warm summer sensations of a mid July and the colours that it brings. Tree stumps amongst an array of beauty and colour, where the foxglove dominates for aContinue reading “Lush : Part 1 and 2”
Here is a small new work, untitled for now. Sometimes I paint these smaller ones while I am working on a larger scale painting. They help stop the over thinking and allow a sense of release when moving between the small and the larger scale
A small part of how this painting came about.
This is one of the fun parts of making the painting. One of the expressive parts for colour, as the values form from lights into darks. It’s almost like the colour is dancing along with the under drawing’s lead.
Re-worked 2020Over the past few months looking back at this painting from 2019, the more I looked at it, the more I felt it needed refining. So I revisited it these past few strange weeks.

I am excited to have just added new work 6 to my site. This is a new series of paintings which I am continuing into 2019, so there will be more to follow in the coming year. I hope you enjoy what I have so far in this series!
I have just added my current new series of paintings here in Work V. This is ongoing and a new definite direction I am taking my art. I hope you enjoy!
My current new series is all about pushing abstraction more than I have ever done before. Responding to my surrounding landscape and being so passionate about nature, forests and the open landscape. The colours are influenced by the bright vibrant summer light that is being experienced here in Ireland lately. This is only a shortContinue reading “Pushing Abstraction”
