Making Space for Pink and Order
This is one of the fun parts of making the painting. One of the expressive parts for colour, as the values form from lights into darks. It’s almost like the colour is dancing along with the under drawing’s lead.

Aligning the Planets
Re-worked 2020Over the past few months looking back at this painting from 2019, the more I looked at it, the more I felt it needed refining. So I revisited it these past few strange weeks.
Painting Process
I am currently working on this painting and this was an early stage where it was a few months ago. I felt at the time that it could be finished at that early stage and I didn’t want to do much more with it. I put it aside for a few weeks, which is whatContinue reading “Painting Process”
Energy
My last few days in the studio have been very productive. I’m hardly able to stay away at the moment.. I’m really excited about this new direction and the work that seems to be flowing right now with the energy I have. I hope it keeps coming. Abstraction allows me to paint straight from myContinue reading “Energy”
Observer – Creator.. the Same
I am the observer, less the creator.. This is where my painting is taking me right now.. It may look like an entirely different artist’s work but if you really look at it, it’s not.. I’m letting go of order and expectation. That being entirely from my own expectation and criticism within my own institution..Continue reading “Observer – Creator.. the Same”

New Canvas
New canvas, new work! I get most of my canvas stretched to my own specs and preferences. It’s important to me that the canvas and stretchers I work on are of best quality, hard wearing and really thick and strong. This means that my several layering, texturing and mixed media applications last permanently without weakeningContinue reading “New Canvas”

Photographing Paintings
I am currently photographing some new paintings. It’s a slow careful process to get the exact colour and every detail of a painting right, but it’s worth it when your work is represented to its fullest truth.. After all it took weeks and months of dedication to create a meaningful piece or art in theContinue reading “Photographing Paintings”
