Conclusion
The excitement of a work nearing conclusion! This piece will be on exhibit early next year..
Today
Nothing but the sound of birds and the soft humid breeze here today. This was the top of one of the Wicklow mountains. Maulin, just above Crone woods. My eyes stretched so so far in all angles. I am working on a few pieces at the moment and this trip from the bottom where IContinue reading “Today”

Watching Light Move
It’s interesting watching the sunlight through the window and shadows from the trees move across the painting. Work in progress.
Before the Water Falls
Some thoughts for my next work. I stood at the brow of the waterfall over powerscourt that day, looking at Djouce Woods and taking it in within its own environment. That was the ground down there that I picked up most of the pine needles which are incorporated into my recent paintings. With the SugarContinue reading “Before the Water Falls”
Pine Shadows
Perhaps the title is decided for this next piece. A work in progress- I just painted another layer onto the painting, playing with tree poses and silhouettes. Recalling the dark sky descending onto the treetops where the clouds met the forest fog, from my viewpoint inside the woods with wet socks and warm feet,Continue reading “Pine Shadows”

Some of my new paintings. These are 3 paintings I recently finished. There a lot more to come and I am very excited about this new work. The Start
Part of how I begin a painting The woods is a place I am mostly drawn to. I have a need sometimes to bring some parts of it back to the studio and include as part of my painting. Here is how I begin the painting. Lots of thought goes into the composition before I start.Continue reading “The Start”
