Short video : : Painting 2013
A short video I put together titled Silent Whispers In My Painting for a few of my paintings showing some close up detail. I invite you to have a look at the work’s closer in detail and textures, that would otherwise be hard to see from the photograph alone.
A work in progress : : March 2015
This is a short video I made titled From My Studio. It is just a small part of the progress of a painting I am almost to completion with presently. I might do more videos like this as a way to invite you into my studio every now and again. All are welcome!
Studies
Studies in oils on stretched paper that I incorporate into some of my paintings. I would abstract these further in the painting or just use as reference to evoke the narrative in the work. Sometimes I am satisfied enough with them as sketched and move just move on to the next.

Work in progress
One of my new painting in progress. I’m not sure where it’s going but it feels good. PhotI taken in my phone.
A Photograph
‘Wishful’ 35mm film photo, darkroom precessed, scanned and digitally manipulated. Depression and anxiety comes without warning a lot of the time. I asked my son to pose for this image and he did so in a very willing and natural way. Thank you Aaron! xx
My everyday things
I am still getting my bits and pieces together to present here on my site. When I am ready with it all I will add new work to my current work and some photos film and digital to my photography area. This is my Instagram to see a little of what takes up a smallContinue reading “My everyday things”
About My Painting : : 2015
Painting is an integral part of who I am, it is my primary form of expression which allows me to achieve a sense of belonging in the world. Painting is a way for me to investigate and resolve my place in areas of time and space in which I occupy. The environment I am mostContinue reading “About My Painting : : 2015”
Studio Note
It’s hard to sit down and gather thoughts on new work. Being back in my studio after some time has made it a bit slow getting used to my new environment. Tonight I have a new piece of work that I think is almost finished. It began about 2 weeks ago and finally a newContinue reading “Studio Note”
Light Sensitivity
This is a light sensitised piece of paper from my sketchbook (very small sketch book, Approx A6). I love the involvement of my painterly techniques that liquid light sensitising allows. It resembles an organic type of conversation between my ‘painter’ and ‘photographer’ side. This is all too inevitable I feel.. I’m enjoying the collaboration ofContinue reading “Light Sensitivity”
Note To Self
I began a new painting today working in the larger scale. I had forgotten the feeling of freedom working larger had allowed me in the past. Its hard to explain. Like my physical movements against a canvas closer to my size make me feel immersed somewhat. Working large after many years is like a new experience toContinue reading “Note To Self”
My Ghost
This was a series of selfportrait images titled My Ghost. I was curious about how ‘absence’ can affect the familiarity of the surrounding environment. An absence of the physical or a fading memory.
From The Woods : Film Photography
I am preoccupied with thoughts of time and existence. I am not sure why, perhaps it is to do with my adoption and dealing with what that meant to me growing up..Or maybe it is just to do with my awareness of how short a time span we get to live on this tiny planet. It may beContinue reading “From The Woods : Film Photography”
Hello!
I am a painter and explorer of alternative photography. My studio is a combination of oil painting and darkroom utilities. I want to share my visual diary of painting and photography with the hope of connecting with other artists in the art community here at home and across the world. This is my first artistContinue reading “Hello!”
